Warmer rest of week, cooler weekend

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

TODAY: It's warmed into the 50s around our area with plenty of sunshine. The active weather has been from East Texas to the Mid-Atlantic and New England. Lots of showers along that front. It'd be nice here, but unfortunately the dry pattern continues.

TONIGHT: Clear and cold, low 24, SW wind 5-10mph. If the wind diminishes then it'll get a bit colder.

THURSDAY: Warmer and breezy, high 67, SW wind 12-20mph.

NEXT FEW DAYS: Friday will be even warmer in Lubbock with cooler air spilling into the Panhandle. It'll climb to the lower to mid 70s in Lubbock, even warmer to the south. That colder air north is the next cold front, which should knock the temperature down here this weekend.

We expect upper 40s Saturday, low to mid 40s Sunday. Even though there is some upper-level energy moving this way, it still looks dry.

NEXT WEEK: The temperature should climb back to near or above the average high.

7-day forecast

Have a great rest of your day. Whitney will have a full update to the forecast here early tomorrow.
