Clouds are filtering into our region with temps in the twenties and sustained winds from 15-20mph out ahead of sunrise.
TODAY: Mostly cloudy with a high of 44, easterly winds from 5-15mph and possible isolated drizzle mainly to the east of Lubbock. There is a Winter Weather Advisory out for light precipitation to the northwest of Dallas, which points up towards OK City.
TONIGHT: Low 23, mostly to partly cloudy with ESE then N winds from 8-12mph. It will feel VERY cold when you wake up tomorrow!
TOMORROW: Mostly sunny with a high of 53, N then ESE winds from 5-12mph.
EXTENDED: Thursday we'll see the return of an elevated risk for fire weather due to sunshine, a warmer high of 64 and dry breezy winds. Friday will be our warmest over the next 7 at nearly 70 degrees.
This upcoming weekend we look to see a cool down.. right now our temperature forecast is uncertain as models are 'flip-flopping', but it looks like we'll be breezy throughout the weekend with lows in the 20s, highs likely in the 40s to 50s. Monday will be breezy as well.
We have been dry for around 3 months here in Lubbock as of today. There is a small chance that we could see a shower chance late next week, but it's way too far out to have any confidence.
