Nice, sunny Sunday in store for the area

Posted: Updated:
LUBBOCK, Texas -

Today has been around 20-25 degrees warmer than yesterday. We have also been dealing with the stronger wind blowing some dust across parts of the South Plains.

TONIGHT: Low near 32, clear sky & lighter wind from the East/Northeast 2-8mph.

SUNDAY: High near 68, a sunny afternoon and light Southeast wind 8-18mph. It is going to be a great day to be outside! Since there is no rain in the forecast we will tie the 2nd longest record of the longest stretch without precipitation on record. The record is 98 days, models showing little to no chance for the next 7-10 days.

NEXT WEEK: The wind will kick up again Monday and Tuesday with more clouds across the area. There is a slim chance for some light drizzle during the early morning hours Tuesday for the Rolling Plains. A cold front enters the area Monday, this will bring cooler temperatures Tuesday and Wednesday. Another front will bring a bigger cool down going into next weekend.
