WARMER WEEKEND: Saturday the wind will kick up out of the SW/W 12-25mph. It'll shift out of the NW late. It'll be much warmer than the past few days, high near 77. The wildfire risk will be high.
The wind backs off on Sunday, still climbing into the lower 70s.
NEXT WEEK: More wind is expected Monday and Tuesday. The week will start mild, near 70 Monday. The latest data has cooled off a bit for Tuesday and Wednesday, in the 50s.
Unfortunately, there still isn't any sign of rain. Sunday will tie us with the second-longest stretch of days without measurable precipitation on record at the Lubbock airport, 88 days. The longest stretch is 98 days.
Have a great weekend. Bobby will have an update to the forecast Saturday afternoon.
