Cool and partly cloudy today, warmer this weekend

LUBBOCK, Texas -

Happy Groundhog Day! It’s a cold and cloudy start to this Friday morning.

TODAY: High near 52, partly to mostly sunny. Light South wind 12-18mph. First Friday Art Trail is this evening and temperatures will be in the 40s, so you may want to wear a jacket.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy, low near 33, Southwest wind 5-15mph.

WEEKEND: Get ready for warmer temperatures with highs in the upper 60s and 70s. A breezy Saturday with Southwest wind 12-22mph.

EXTENDED: Staying dry over the next 7-days. We will tie the second longest streak for no precipitation on Sunday of 88 days. We will cool down next week, staying above the average for this time of year.

Join us this morning on Good Day Lubbock until 9am. Matt will bring you the latest update tonight on the News at 9. We will keep you updated on FOX34s Facebook and Twitter page. Also, you can follow me by searching @BobbyJohnstonWX and liking my page.
