LUBBOCK, Texas -

WARM DAY: We've made it up to 83 in Lubbock, as of 3:15 p.m. The record for the date is 84. A cold front is to our north. Behind it the temperature is in the 60s along and north of I-40. There's also a northerly wind behind the front.

TONIGHT: Clear and cool, low near 32. Wind N/NE 10-18mph.

TOMORROW: Cooler and mostly sunny. High near 57. Average high for Feb. 1 is 56. The NE wind may be a little gusty in the morning; it'll diminish through the afternoon.

DRY PATTERN: There's no sign of rain or snow over the next 10 days. It will get warmer and breezy Saturday before another weak front moves through. The past couple of days data has trended milder behind this front. Now we expect 60s Sunday, back near 70 and breezy Monday.

Sunday will tie us with the second-longest stretch without measurable precipitation on record in Lubbock, at 88 days. The previous 88-day stretch started in October 1921. The longest stretch on record is 98 days, starting in late October 2005.
