LUBBOCK, Texas -

WINDY DAY: We've had the SW wind kicking up dust and leading to a bad wildfire risk today. The wind will stay with us tonight.

TONIGHT: Breezy, SW wind 12-22mph. Low near 38. Mostly clear.

low temp forecast

TOMORROW: Even warmer, though the wind won't be quite as strong. The wildfire risk will be high again. High near 80. Record for the date is 84. Wind W-SW 12-25mph with higher gusts.

high temp forecast

EXTENDED FORECAST: A front will move across the area tomorrow night, dropping Thursday and Friday's highs into the 50s.

It'll warm back to around 70 Saturday with a gusty SW wind. Then a north wind will kick up, behind the next front late Saturday-early Sunday. At this point it looks like the core of that cold air will stay well northeast of here, leading to a mild start to next week.

7-day forecast

Have a great rest of your day. Whitney will have a full update to the forecast here early tomorrow.
