• Lubbock Christian University fell to a 2-5-0 overall record and a 1-2-0 mark in conference standings after a 2-1 loss to a No. 17 ranked St. Edward’s squad Thursday afternoon.

• The Chaps tallied two shots for the day, but kept their efficiency high by scoring on one attempt.

• Louis Callaghan got on the board on his second shot attempt of the year and his first LCU career start.

• Louis Callaghan struck first in the 14th minute on an assist by Conner Dean. Callaghan ripped his shot from 30-yards out in the center of the field beating SEU keeper William Tuffin to the upper right hand side of the frame.

• St. Edward’s evened things up in the 28th minute on a set-piece pass from Dylan Armstrong to Pablo Covarrubias. Covarrubias was able to tuck his shot away in the near side post from inside the 18-yard box.

• The Hilltoppers pulled away on a final goal from Armstrong inside the six-yard box in the 64th minute.

• The Chaps fall to a 1-4-0 record against St. Edward’s with their only win over the Hilltoppers coming in the 2013 season.

• In Lubbock Christian’s five showdowns with the Hilltoppers, SEU has been ranked each time.

• LCU now stands 2-8-4 all-time when facing ranked opponents. Callaghan’s performance marks Lubbock Christian’s 15th goal against a ranked foe.

2: Lubbock Christian’s two shots ties a program low for shots recorded in a game. Both instances were contests against St. Edward’s.

LCU will now turn their attention to a Saturday afternoon Heartland Conference showdown with Dallas Baptist University. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. at LCU Soccer Field. The Chaparrals own a 3-1-0 all-time record over the Patriots. In their most recent meeting, DBU outlasted the Chaps 3-2 in Dallas, Texas (9/24/16). Saturday’s contest will mark the second time ever for LCU to host Dallas Baptist.
