Lady Chaps Soccer suffer first loss of season

• LCU Freshman Haley Knesek produced the game's opening goal for her second goal of the season.
• Jamie Boone assisted on Knesek's goal for her team-leading sixth point of the season.
• Defender Kate O'Gara also contributed an assist on Knesek's goal.
• Haley Knesek scored the game's opening goal 4:20 into the game for a 1-0 lead and also nabbed her second goal of the season (co-leads the team).
• In the 27th minute, Kelly Andrus tied the game at 1-1 capitalizing off a loose ball off a free kick.
• SEU took the lead with a pair of goals 11:43 apart by Jennifer Boudreau beginning in the game's 52nd minute.
• Knesek's goal was the first LCU has scored against SEU away from home, ending a scoreless sequence of 274:20 in the all-time series. It was LCU's first ever goal against SEU away from home.
• LCU has the "first goal" in all four games this season. Each of Knesek's two goals on the season are "first goals."
• SEU's opening goal was the first goal allowed by LCU this season and it ended LCU's shutout sequence at 339:44. The goal ended freshman goalkeeper Sarah Palmer's shutout sequence at 296:03. The LCU program record for a shutout sequence is 378:56 (2010) and the program's goalkeeper shutout sequence record is 351:51 by Kayla Wilkinson. LCU entered the game as one of seven programs in all of NCAA Div. II that had not allowed a goal on the season.
• LCU, who entered the game with an 18.7 to 8.6 advantage in shots, were outshot 13-5, marking the first time they have been outshot this season.
• The Lady Chaps fall to 19-8-0 all-time in Heartland Conference games, 8-6-0 all-time in Heartland Conference road games (LCU has lost four consecutive conference road games).
• With the loss, LCU is 1-1-0 on the road this season and are 17-19-1 all-time on the road under head coach Alex Denning. Overall all-time, LCU is 27-29-3 on the road.
• The meeting was the fifth all-time meeting between the two programs and SEU improves to 5-0-0 against the Lady Chaps.
2: Jamie Boone has two assists on the season. Her single season career high mark is three from 2014. She went the entire 2015 season without contributing an assist.
Lubbock Christian (3-1-0) remains on the road Saturday and heads to Dallas, Texas to face Dallas Baptist at 1p.m. for another Heartland Conference tilt.
