I do plan to give "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" another shot because what I saw in theaters was a mess of muddled plotting, character motivations and the worst in studio think for universe building.
I liked director Zack Snyder's Superman movie "Man of Steel," but this follow-up is trying so hard to set up future movies that it forgets to tell a cogent story on its own. There's some good stuff here: serious considerations about civil liberties, religious fanaticism and even political sentiments about immigration we've heard a lot this election year. Henry Cavill and Amy Adams are both solid again as superman and Lois Lane and Ben Affleck is excellent as the new Batman.
The reason I'm giving this thing another go is because the Blu-ray release contains what's called the Ultimate Edition with Snyder adding 30 minutes back into the movie. So the thing is gonna be three hours long when it was already a bit laborious, but I'm hoping the added scenes will help fix some of the gaps in plotting and logic.
