Governor Abbott asks for unity among law enforcement

Governor Abbott issued a statewide call to stand with law enforcement to pay respect to Harris County Sheriff's Deputy Darren Goforth who was gunned down outside a gas station in the Houston area.
Abbott asked all Texas law enforcement officers to turn on their red and blue flashing lights for one-minute at 11:00 a.m. - the time Deputy Goforth's funeral is set to begin.
Representatives of Lubbock's police agencies will gather at the Civic Center.  The governor also ordered that Texas flags be lowered to half staff Friday in honor of the slain deputy.
