    LPD responding to multiple bomb threat calls

    At approximately 1:00 p.m., the Lubbock Police Department received calls from several different businesses referencing a bomb threat made through email. All emails are demanding payments through Bitcoin. At this time, no suspicious packages have been located and it appears the email is possibly a scam.

    First responders evacuated the South Plains Rural Health Services in Levelland after a bomb threat was received.  Law enforcement has shut down FM 300 between Hwy 385 and West Avenue. Officials are asking the public to avoid the area.

    Mighty Wash to assist Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign

    A Lubbock business is stepping in to support the Salvation Army and hoping to close the gap in its loss of funds from this weekend's snow. The Salvation Army was forced to suspend bell ringing for its Red Kettle Campaign, causing a financial strain.  A bell ringer will be located at the Mighty Wash located on 82nd and Milwaukee Saturday, Dec. 15.
